About
Amelia Empson is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Southwestern Virginia. Her writing ranges from tales of young love and heartbreak, to the love she has for her home and the mountains where she was raised. Growing up homeschooled, she enjoys fishing, hiking and foraging with her family. The outdoors and landscape of the Appalachians and Blue Ridge have deeply influenced her artistic vision, writing, and sense of self. She is a self taught fingerstyle guitarist, and loves to play with melodies and counter vocal melodies at live performances.
She self released her first full length album, “Wonder What Wonder”, in 2021 at age 18, a solo, raw album, full of youthful sounds and lyrics. Her second album, “Overalls and Lingerie”, came out in 2023, with themes streaming from Appalachian culture, and her music joined by friends Isaac Hadden on electric guitar, Colby Helms on acoustic guitar, and PJ George on mandolin and standup bass, When she’s not performing, you can find her fishing, farming, or spending time with her community in Blacksburg, Virginia.
